Paper Route – Absence + Better Life

Get a free download of Paper Route's album Absence for free over at NoiseTrade. The download also includes the bonus song Better Life, which comes from their newest album The Peace Of Wild Things. I'm not sure why it took me so long to post this because it has been up for a long time. Since I have downloaded it I have fell in love with their music, Fantastic Stuff!!!

When speaking of the album many people compare to bands such as The Postal Service, Coldplay, Mutemath, and Depeche Mode. I actually thought of Radiohead's Kid A/Amnesiac era as well. The music is a blend of indie rock and electro pop.  Read the rest of this entry

Andy Needham Band – Open Arms

You can get the new Andy Needham Band single, Open Arms, for free download over at the GMC website. The song is the first single released off of their new worship album, Lifted High. The song has a pop rock sound to it that reminds me a bit of Jason Mraz. The rest of the album is a little less pop than the single having a more contemporary worship style.

The new album, Lifted High, was produced by Grammy award-winner Mitch Dane, who is best known for his work with Jars Of Clay, Bebo Norman, and Brandon Heath. Showbread – Cancer

Showbread have released their new album Cancer for free download over at Come & Live. The album is a science fiction concept album that takes place on a planet called Cancer, which sounds strangely like the planet I live on. From what the Come & Live site says the story follows a rebellious rock musician that attempts to use his punk rock band to lead a revolt against inter-dimensional fascists in a not-so-distant American future.

I won't get to much into reviewing the album, there are many other places to find that if you so desire. To give you an idea of what to expect, from the band that you never know what to expect, Cancer is musically a mix of all of their previous albums with the addition of some new styles as well. Most important to many fans the album brings back the screams many have come to love with Showbread, that were non-existent in their last release Who Can Know It. Although I personally did not miss them I think they put out a solid album without them, but I do enjoy that they are back. Read the rest of this entry

Thousand Foot Krutch – Light Up The Sky

You can download the new Thousand Foot Krutch song Light Up The Sky for free over at Noisetrade. The song comes from their latest album The End Is Where We Begin. The End Is Where We Begin is their first Independent album since leaving Tooth & Nail Records in November of last year. The album has gotten good reviews and hit the number one spot on the Billboard Christian Albums and Hard Rock charts.

Light Up The Sky actually reminds me of Rage Against The machine quite a bit, more specifically the RATM song Guerrilla Radio. The guitar parts for sure but the vocals as well, mostly the vocals that are spoken more than sung. This isn't a bad thing I used to be a big fan of Rage Against The Machine. I'm sure some RATM fans would protest to that but that's what I hear. Read the rest of this entry

TopherMan – Self-Titled

Topherman have put up their self-titled album for free download again over at Noisetrade. They mentioned on their Facebook that the reason for putting it back up was because they have been getting a great response with their new EP Seek.

Topherman is an indie rock/worship band out of Jackson, Mississippi. For the most part I would throw them in the indie rock category but they cover many different genres on the album including blues on Cold And Lonely, post-rock on The Experimental, a bit of a country on Tower Of Lies, among others. Noisetrade says they are for fans of for fans of Cool Hand Luke, The City Harmonic, Explosions in the Sky, and Jesus Culture. Read the rest of this entry
