Josh Garrels – Love & War, B-Sides & Remixes

Josh Garrels has released a b-sides and remix EP for his Love & War & The Sea In Between album at his website for free. The EP is simply titled Love & War, B-Sides & Remixes.

Their are four remixes done by Mason Jar, Aaron Strumpel, Kye Kye, and Josh Garrels teams up with Mason Jar to remix White Owl all of which turn out sounding good. I really enjoy the Aaron Strumpel remix, but I'm beginning to find out anything Aaron has his hands in ends up being great. The b-sides are Valor, Cynicism, and Run all great songs that just didn't make the cut to the full album for one reason or another. And finally the last track on the EP is actually a song from the hip-hop/rap group Beautiful Eulogy. The song is from their new album Satellite Kite which features Josh Garrels on vocals. Tee-Wyla and DJ Ynot? are set to release a new remix album that should be out sometime this month. One of the songs off of the album has recently been put up on Rapzilla for free download.

The remix is of the KB song Zone Out, which you can download the original of here at Noisetrade for free KB – Zone Out. The album is "an exclusive collection of club remixes" I'm not much into clubs or dancing at all, but this remix kinda makes me want to dance. I enjoy the remix more than the original version. I look forward to hearing some more remixes off of this album. Read the rest of this entry

The Voice – Worship Sessions

You can download the new mixtape Worship Session from The Voice for free over at Rapzilla. With this album the voice took a break from hip-hop beats and took famous worship songs and rapped over them.

The original songs are all completely kept in tact, I believe, he just adds his rap vocals to it. On the mixtape The Voice takes songs from five different popular worship artists including Delirious, David Crowder Band, Jesus Culture, Chris Tomlin, and Hillsong.  Read the rest of this entry

Earlier this month I posted a remix of the Sean Carter song Stuck In A Moment done by RAEV. The remix was just a rough demo and now the final version is up for your listening enjoyment. Head over to RAEV's Soundcloud page to download the song for free.

You can get the original version of Stuck In A Moment on Sean Carters sampler for his upcoming album The Telling here The Telling Sampler. I highly recommend the sampler and look forward to the full length album, whenever it comes out. Read the rest of this entry

The Voice is set to release a mixtape called the Worship Sessions on June 24th. He is giving away the first single off of that mixtape for free. The song for download is Our God, which was originally done by Chris Tomlin. The Voice kept a lot of Chris' vocals in the song as well as adding his own.

The upcoming mixtape will include songs from Hillsong, David Crowder Band, Jesus Culture, and Delerious in addition to this song from Chris Tomlin. I think he did a great job keeping the original song intact as well as making it his own. I am looking forward to hearing the rest of this mixtape. Read the rest of this entry

Words Like Vines – Consumed By

Words Like Vines is a progressive metalcore band out of Jacksonville, Florida. I believe they are a newer band and only have one song up right now for you to listen to. You can download their song Consumed By for free at their Reverbnation profile. You can also get a dubstep remix of the song, called the KüR Remix, at their Facebook page, until it hits 100 downloads I assume. Words Like Vines is for fans of For Today and August Burns Red. The extremely popular Christian site Jesus Freak Hideout has released it's first compilation album, and are giving it away for free. The album called, Songs We've Been Trying To Tell You About (And Others We Haven't) Volume One, is a compilation of mostly independent artists that they enjoy and think you need to hear. There are also some fairly well know bands on it such as Family Force 5, The O.C. Supertones, and Kids In The Way.

Most of the music is in the rock genre whether it be pop rock, hard rock, folk rock……. There is a handful of hip-hop/rap and electronic artists on it as well. If you are a metal fan there is not much for you here Fallstar's song Hunters I believe is the only song on here for you and it falls more in the hardcore category. I also noticed that the compilation is for the most part male dominated there are very few females represented on the album. Read the rest of this entry

Here is a free download of a remix someone did of Sean Carter's song Stuck In A Moment. The person that did the remix is Nick Krueger, AKA DJ Raev. Not sure how the remix came about but on Twitter Nick and Sean have been in touch back and forth recently about the remix. At one point Sean mentioned doing the song Ocean as well, which I would love to hear Nick do when he finishes this remix. Keep in mind this remix is just a rough mix he still has to finish it.

The song Stuck In A Moment comes from Sean's coming release The Telling, which I am still not sure of a release date on. You can get a sampler of the album with the original song Stuck In A Moment here Sean Carter – The Telling Sampler. Read the rest of this entry

Abandon Kansas – Ad Astra Per Remix (EP)

Get the Abandon Kansas remix EP, Ad Astra Per Remix, for free below. This EP contains 3 remixes from their debut full length album with Gotee Records titled Ad Astra Per Aspera. Abandon Kansas has a indie rock sound but if you are not into electronic music you will probably not be into this EP.

I have seen on a handfull of reviews that they complain the only thing kept from the original song is the vocals the music itself does not take anything from the original. Yes these are remixes and yes the music is electronic, there is also a bit of dubstep on the Like It Or Not remix. I enjoy electronic music so this was not an issue for me. Oh, and by the way it was FREE!! Read the rest of this entry
