Head over to Amazon and pick up The Rocket Summer's song 200,000 for free. The song comes from their latest album, Life Will Write The Words, which was released in June of this year.

The Rocket Summer is Bryce Avary, who plays all the instruments on his albums as well as writing all the songs and producing. The Rocket Summer is known for their upbeat pop rock sound, most people would throw them into the power pop category. But starting with his 2010 release Of Men And Angels along with Life Will Write The Words, Bryce has been taking on a more indie rock sound. Read the rest of this entry

Michael Gungor also plays electric guitar and David Gungor adds bass and percussion.

Least Of These is an indie rock/post hardcore band out of Denton, Texas. The Royal Royal – Heartbeats

The Royal Royal is made up of brothers Gabriel and Nathan Finochio of Ontario, Canada. They recently released their first EP titled Royal and you can get the song Heartbeats for a free download over at Noisetrade.

The Royal Royal have an indie rock sound that has synthpop influences throughout alot of their songs. This song although does not have the synthpop feel to it so much it actually has a bit of a classic rock feel to it, or as it's refered to it in Christian music, Jesus Movement music. I also am reminded a bit of the band Talking Heads on some of the song. From listening to the samples of the songs off of the EP I think Heartbeats is probably my favorite song from it. Rivers & Robots is Jonathan Ogden from Manchester, UK. He recently released a new album titled Take Everything and is giving away a song from the album for free download. You can download You Saved My Soul at his Soundcloud or Bandcamp page, whatever you prefer.

Rivers & Robots has an experimental sound blending folk, indie rock, and worship with electronic elements. I would recommend it for anyone that also enjoys Sufjan Stevens, and I do so I am loving Rivers & Robots. If you enjoy the song I highly recommend you check out the rest of the new album Take Everything here at Take Everything - Rivers & Robots or Amazon. Read the rest of this entry

Kenosis – What Wondrous Love Is This

Kenosis is lead by Mars Hill worship leader Joel Brown, formerly of the band Red Letter. Their first EP on Mars Hill Music is Depth Of Mercy, the EP features an adaptation of the Charles Wesley hymn Depth Of Mercy as well a remake of Stuart Townend's How Deep The Fathers Love.

My favorite song off of the EP is What Wondrous Love Is This which you can download for free over at iTickets. Most of the songs on the EP have a great indie rock feel to them but What Wondrous Love Is This and the song All My Tears remind me of classic rock, probably would be for someone into The Followers or Resurrection Band. Abel, the indie rock band out of Poughkeepsie, New York, has released their new single Fire Walk With Me for free download over at Noisetrade. The new song comes from their upcoming album Make It Right, which is set to release September 18th.

The extremely popular Christian site Jesus Freak Hideout has released it's first compilation album, and are giving it away for free. The album called, Songs We've Been Trying To Tell You About (And Others We Haven't) Volume One, is a compilation of mostly independent artists that they enjoy and think you need to hear. There are also some fairly well know bands on it such as Family Force 5, The O.C. Supertones, and Kids In The Way.

Most of the music is in the rock genre whether it be pop rock, hard rock, folk rock……. There is a handful of hip-hop/rap and electronic artists on it as well. If you are a metal fan there is not much for you here Fallstar's song Hunters I believe is the only song on here for you and it falls more in the hardcore category. I also noticed that the compilation is for the most part male dominated there are very few females represented on the album. Read the rest of this entry

Matthew Reed has a remix EP in the works and he is giving away the first remix for free. The song Come And Drink was remixed by Roy Mitchell-Cardenas of MuteMath fame. I believe all the remixes will come from his EP titled Come And Drink which was up for free download on Noisetrade at one time. Sorry if you missed the full album download, I was going to post a link to it here but realized it is gone. It is worth buying though, sample the songs and buy the album below at iTunes or Amazon.

On his Facebook page his music is recommended to anyone who enjoys the worship style of John Mark McMillan, Gungor, Phil Wickham and Daniel Bashta. To be honest this is probably one of my favorite worship albums that I have heard, a lot of them just sound the same to me I guess. This one stands out from the crowd though for me. Looking forward to hearing the rest of the remixes. Here is a link that I found to get the song Awake Awake from the Come And Drink EP for free.
