Young Chozen – Lights On (Feat. HOPP)

Get a track from Young Chozen's upcoming mixtape Night Light that he is releasing on July 20th. The free song is Lights On which manipulates the T-Pain song Turn All The Lights On into a positive Christian song.

I honestly have never heard the original song but I like what Young Chozen has put out it makes me want to dance, and I don't dance. Young Chozen has put together the mixtape with the intentions for it to be used as an outreach tool for the lost party culture. Read the rest of this entry

B.Reith – How The Story Continues

B.Reith just released a new mixtape called How The Story Continues for free at his website. The mixtape has a handfull of remixes off of his last album How The Story Ends. The album features many artists as guest vocalists including Lecrae, Lisa Gungor, Dre Murray, Theory Hazit, and more.

For the most part this is all rap/hip-hop but I also have it listed under R&B because Lonely Hearts has heavy R&B influence mostly coming from Kevin Olusola's vocals. I also listed this mixtape under pop rock because the Simple Days remix has a chorus that is very pop rock. Simple Days is probably my favorite from the album, I think it's because the music is Lou Reed's song Take A Walk On The Wild Side. Read the rest of this entry

The original songs are all completely kept in tact, I believe, he just adds his rap vocals to it. On the mixtape The Voice takes songs from five different popular worship artists including Delirious, David Crowder Band, Jesus Culture, Chris Tomlin, and Hillsong.  Read the rest of this entry

The Voice is set to release a mixtape called the Worship Sessions on June 24th. He is giving away the first single off of that mixtape for free. The song for download is Our God, which was originally done by Chris Tomlin. The Voice kept a lot of Chris' vocals in the song as well as adding his own.

The upcoming mixtape will include songs from Hillsong, David Crowder Band, Jesus Culture, and Delerious in addition to this song from Chris Tomlin. I think he did a great job keeping the original song intact as well as making it his own. I am looking forward to hearing the rest of this mixtape. Read the rest of this entry

The extremely popular Christian site Jesus Freak Hideout has released it's first compilation album, and are giving it away for free. The album called, Songs We've Been Trying To Tell You About (And Others We Haven't) Volume One, is a compilation of mostly independent artists that they enjoy and think you need to hear. There are also some fairly well know bands on it such as Family Force 5, The O.C. Supertones, and Kids In The Way.

Most of the music is in the rock genre whether it be pop rock, hard rock, folk rock……. There is a handful of hip-hop/rap and electronic artists on it as well. If you are a metal fan there is not much for you here Fallstar's song Hunters I believe is the only song on here for you and it falls more in the hardcore category. I also noticed that the compilation is for the most part male dominated there are very few females represented on the album. Read the rest of this entry
