Download new Brandon Heath music for free thanx to iTickets. You can get a free download of Brandon's song The Harvester, which is the opening track to his newly released album Blue Mountain. Blue Mountain was just released on the 5th and can be sampled or purchased at Amazon or iTunes.
The new album is a bit of a departure from his normal contemporary pop-rock sound. From what I understand and from listening to this song I can hear the new sound come out. The Harvester has some heavy country and bluegrass influence which is what you can expect from the rest of the album as well. I can honestly say I've never been a huge fan of Brandon's music. Not saying his music is bad, he makes good music, it's just that the style isn't much my thing. Contemporary worship music all kinda starts sounding the same after a while I guess. But this song makes me want to check out the rest of his new album. Read the rest of this entry

Chris Sligh is probably best known for his 10th place finish in the sixth season of American Idol. Besides being a great singer he was also remembered as having an extensive knowledge of American Idol trivia, as well as his witty humor that was displayed throughout his time on the show.
Since his appearance he has released two solo albums with Word Records that have had some good success. In 2011 Chris felt that God was calling him to give away his music for free, so he parted ways with his record label and started a Kickstarter campaign to fund his next two albums. From the way it sounds he plans to rotate giving away an album for free then charging for the next one. Read the rest of this entry

The extremely popular Christian site Jesus Freak Hideout has released it's first compilation album, and are giving it away for free. The album called, Songs We've Been Trying To Tell You About (And Others We Haven't) Volume One, is a compilation of mostly independent artists that they enjoy and think you need to hear. There are also some fairly well know bands on it such as Family Force 5, The O.C. Supertones, and Kids In The Way.
Most of the music is in the rock genre whether it be pop rock, hard rock, folk rock……. There is a handful of hip-hop/rap and electronic artists on it as well. If you are a metal fan there is not much for you here Fallstar's song Hunters I believe is the only song on here for you and it falls more in the hardcore category. I also noticed that the compilation is for the most part male dominated there are very few females represented on the album. Read the rest of this entry

Get The Followers latest release Wounded Healer from the folks over at Come&Live. The Followers is Josh White of Telecast and Eric Earley of Blitzen Trapper with a handfull of friends. The album is the first release from Deeper Well Records, which is a gospel collective that came out of Door Of Hope Church in Portland, Oregon.
The album is getting great reviews and they are well deserved. They call their style of music neo-gospel, blending rock, folk, country, and R&B. This is not a modern sound it is a throwback to 70s rock and when country music sounded, well like country music. I was not around for the "Jesus Movement" myself but this would be for anyone that was or still is into that, or fans of the Resurrection Band. Read the rest of this entry

Orion Walsh is a folk rock artist from Lincoln, Nebraska, he is formerly the lead singer of the band Slow Coming Day. His newest album, First By Water Then By Fire, is now available on his Bandcamp page for any amount you want to give, which can make it free if you so choose.
The album is a concept album based around the verses from 2 Peter 3:5-10. The title says it all the earth was first cleansed by water and we now wait for it to be cleansed by fire. While most of his music has an acoustic folk sound he adds some electric guitar on the more upbeat song The First Shall Be The Last, which happens to be my favorite on the album. On his song Journey Of A Spruce Tree he has a country sound and I can't help but think of Johnny Cash when I first heard it. Read the rest of this entry
